#BQ407 - Japanese Matchlock Rifle - $3985.00
Shinto period, ca. 1750. Bore approximately
60 caliber. Original untouched condition. Much brass inlay, including
butterflies, flowers, bamboo and maple leaves. Bottom of stock with Wisteria
family mon in silver used by Goto or Kato families (among others) Top of barrel
with eleven kanji. Beautiful Japanese red oak stock with nice burl pattern.
Silver band finishes the stock at the barrel. Tulip-form muzzle of octagonal
section. Overall 51 ½".
