#GDP1 – Kuchenreiter Dueling Pistol, ca. 1740, Converted to
Percussion – $1650.00
A fine German dueling pistol,
numbered on the tang as two of a pair, by Johann Andreas Kuchenreiter I
(1716-1795). Smoothbore barrel with fine silver inlaid decorum and signature (IOH.
ANDRE. KUCHENREITER) with silver front sight blade and hinged rear blades
consisting of three distinct elevations. Set trigger, excellent brass mounts
with walnut stock carved in relief. Ebony ramrod with horn tip. An honest 19th
century conversion to percussion. Overall VG; excellent age patina. Horn
forend and ramrod tip restored. Slight warpage to the wood beneath the lock
due to pressure from the lock spring during improper storage.
