Probably dating from the late 17th century,
this Japanese Kabuto Hachi has 25 plates, and hearkens to the Saotome school.
3-stage Tehen of gilded copper. This helmet-bowl bears embossed eyebrows and
wrinkles, and contains much of the original red lacquer on the inside of the
visor. Excellent condition, showing surface rust commensurate with its age.
