# BQ2571 - A Fine Mounted Edo Period Unsigned Wakizashi - $ 2280.00

A fine shinogi-zukuri wakizashi, ca. 1750. The blade is tempered with an excellent medium sugaha. It has a fine two-piece copper habaki. In superb old polish with an o-suriagi two holed nakago. It has a fine original hand forged rounded square tsuba signed, " Shoami Shigenobu" with sukashi in the form of a worm eaten wood design along with amida yasuri (radiating lines from the center) and bold iron bones in the plate. The original tsuka has its original same and wrap along with a fuchi made from copper with stone wall pattern and inlayed squash and leaf design. The kashira is of polished horn. The shakudo menuki are a matched pair, with deer in nature design and added gold nunome. The original saya has been professionally restored in gloss black lacquer. Add a quality kodzuka and you will have a fine completely mounted sword for your collection. 51.1cm. blade nagasa.
