# BQ2572 - Mounted Edo Period Mumei O-Wakizashi - $ 1200.00

A very attractive shinogi-zukuri mumei sword, ca. 1750, with fine old polish. The nakago appears to be ubu with two holes. The blade displays period oxidation and surface scratches. The hamon is small gunome in a medium sugaha. The fine habaki is covered in silver foil. The Edo period tsuba is of shibuichi with gold washed mimi. The tsuka has been professionally restored with quality same and purple silk ito. The fittings include a buffalo horn kashira and shakudo fuchi with high relief chrysanthemum design and a fine matched pair of shakudo menuki with gold nunome details. The subject is tiger and bamboo. The saya has also been restored in translucent black lacquer over speckled purple. Very good overall restored condition with very attractive koshirae, but the blade could use a polish. 56.4cm. blade nagasa
