# BQ2671 - Mid 20th Century African Congo Handforged Iron Spear - $ 200.00

This original spear is from the Northern Congo and probably of the Basoko, Bangala or Ngombe tribe. Made in three pieces with a hand forged grooved and pierced leaf form point and tapered base and a short wooden haft. Also with some added raffia and copper wire wrap. In untouched original condition with minor cracks, nicks, dents and fine age patina. These spears were not only used in intertribal warfare and hunting but also as currency, bridal dowry gifts and objects of prestige. 148 cm. L.
