# BQ2712 - A WWII Period Theater-made U.S. Fighting knife - $ 420.00

This WWII American theater-made fighting knife has plenty of eye appeal. The thin blade was hand ground to shape and has several oriental kanji stamped into the surface indicating that it was reused from another knife. The hand-carved hardwood handle is inlaid with ivory rhombuses. The crossguard is of aircraft aluminum. Handcrafted leather sheath with heavy aluminum staples all around the edge, inked on the reverse, "ARMY AIR FORCE" with logo. The front with "JBW" lightly scratched into the surface. This knife was probably made in either the CBI or Island area. Excellent period used condition with good age patina and a small area of modern glued repair at bottom seam of handle. 37.3 cm. overall in sheath.
