An outstanding early Edo period Japanese Kyo-sukashi iron katana tsuba, ca. 1700. The sukashi is beautifully cut in the form of bamboo, which symbolizes the Samurai spirit of bending but not breaking. Wonderful condition with fine age patina. 8.7 cm. round x 4 mm. thick.
