# BQ2802 - A Japanese Mounted Mumei Wakizashi, Edo Period - $ 1680.00

Click here for fax-in order form

A fine Edo period wakizashi with mounts. The blade is shinogi-zukuri with good polish and active wide sugaha hamon with nie. The nakago is o-suriagi with two ana. A two piece copper/shakudo and silver foil habaki complements the blade. The original tsuka has excellent large node same and is wrapped in textured black ito. A mismatched pair of very good quality shakudo fuchi/kashira with lots of gold inlay work very well together, and matched pair of shakudo menuki of war spears with gold nunome details complete the tsuka. The excellent original iron Mito school tsuba features a design of geese in a landscape with areas of gold accents. The original saya has translucent reddish-brown lacquer with the addition of later gold leaf. The kodzuka is missing. This sword is in very good condition, but does display small fukure kizu near an area of minor staining. 43.7 cm. blade nagasa, 63.5 cm. overall in saya.
