# BQ2958 - An Early 19th C. Turkish Long Gun - $ 3840.00

A fine early 19th century rifle with hand forged round damascus barrel carved in relief with a long serpent and warrior on horseback with spear above a dragon with added silver inlay. The muzzle is of slightly expanded tulip form and carved with ring and leaf motif. It appears to be smooth bore and about .70 cal. The multi-piece wooden stock is largely covered with mother of pearl half moon and diamond mosaic style inlays with wire borders and accents. It has a silvered miquelet lock, barrel bands and false ramrod. The gun has about 80% of the inlay intact and has other minor losses and surface rust. It is in fine original used condition and with some restoration will be a show stopper. 167 cm. overall.
