A Nepalese Kukri, Probably 19th Century - $

A smallish Nepalese Ghurka's kukri, probably 19th century, in its original tooled leather scabbard. Small, one-piece wooden handle without pommel cap, with interesting bands of carved geometrical décor beneath the ring and iron bolsters. The blade with two short fullers. Leather covered wooden sheath with accommodation for two bi-knives and an additional pouch and retaining its leather thong, decorated with linear patterns. The blade and sheath with numbered tags from an earlier documented collection. Overall GC; grip with an age crack, the blade with a few small edge chips and with rust spotting, minor leather loss at the scabbard tip and a large tear at the back. The bi-knives lacking. Blade 29.2 cm., overall in sheath 38.5 cm.
