Here is a chance to own a sword by famous Yasukuni Shrine smith Yasuhiro using his alternative mei Kunimori. Starting in 1937 Yasuhiro left Yasukuni shrine to become head instructor for the Baron Okura forge at the Baron's estate in Tokyo. This blade is signed, "Toto Ju Nin, Ikkansai Kunimori Kin Saku," and is not dated as was common with Kunimori blades. See "Slough's Modern Japanese Swords 1868-1945" for more information. This is a bare blade with original habaki offering. The habaki is currently stuck and will need to be oiled and carefully removed. The hamon is an active medium suguha. This work has moderate surface rust and scattered pitting. It will require a full polish that should produce an outstanding finished blade with no remaining problems. 66.9 cm. nagasa.
