A Fine Silver Mounted Nepalese Kukri - $
650.00
A good 19th century gurkha kukri in its original silver-mounted leather scabbard. Finely formed and elegant triple-fullered blade, very sharp, with deep belly and delicately filed cho. Several small characters, presumably Nepali, are engraved into the spine. Horn grip with single ring and without pommel cap with steel bolsters. Good quality sheath of black asshide over a wooden core, the throat and chape of embossed silver. Fine condition overall; the kukri fits the sheath tightly, as the scabbard has been cut through at the top and bottom edges, and slightly into the silver chape at the top. Light age wear, minor dents and dimples to the silver, a tight crack to the horn grip and a small chip at the top of the pommel. Overall in sheath 44.6 cm.
