# FAS2 - A Mid-19th Century French Artillery Saber - $ 150.00

An uncommon French artillery saber in the German style, with reverse-P hilt without langets. Slightly curved blade with wide and narrow fullers, the spine of the blade inscribed "Manuf Nl e de Châtellerault Mars 1851," and inspectors' stamps at the forte. Shortened slightly -- this appears to have been done in period, probably at an arsenal. Overall GC with fine dark patina, but lacking the grips. Blade 75.3 cm., overall 90.8 cm.
