# BQ2998 - A Rare U.S.S. Caldwell Ensign Named WWII Cattaraugus 225Q Fighting Knife with Original Sheath - $ 225.00

An excellent untouched example with clearly stamped maker-marked blade, slightly sharpened. The mounts are of steel and the handle is of stacked leather. The leather displays grooves, added by the solider to improve the grip. The fine original leather sheath is supple and sound but is missing a few stitches. The reverse has written in ink, "Ens. Walter S. Larson 413268, U.S.S. Caldwell, DD605." The Destroyer Caldwell saw lots of action during the war including being hit by a Kamikaze. Overall fine original condition. 26.7 cm. overall in sheath.
