# bq2296 - A Rare Late 19th C. Imported Colonial Spanish Sabre - $ 1250.00

A British made horn handled saber with a portion of the original scabbard and brass throat piece. With fullered hatchet point blade marked with steamship logo and the word "STEAMER" plus distributors name, “A. MAYOL & Co.” Research via the Swordforum web site states that these STEAMER marked swords were made by Robert Mole and sold on the Cuban/Puerto Rican market prior to the Span. Am. War. Machete style horn grips with iron lined lanyard hole and recurved iron crossguard. Blade displays patches of light rust; a very interesting and uncommon logo. 85.7 cm. overall.
