# BQ1909 - An Excellent Colonial American Round Poll Belt Trade Axe - $ 1100.00

Click here for fax-in order form

The handforged blade has a wonderful untouched original rust patina and is marked with a hot stamp of an impressed diamond shape with the letter Z and a single dot on each side. Our research indicates this mark was used on trade axes made in Nothern Spain during the 1600's and traded to the Native American Indians by the French. The old hafting is of dark age patinaed hickory with handling marks and an interesting brass boss at its top. 41.7 cm. overall, with 17.8 cm. long axe head.
