A Civil War Ladder Badge, 49th PA Volunteers, Named - $
500.00
A Civil War Ladder Badge, 49th PA Volunteers, Named A Civil War Ladder Badge, named to Benjamin Bolton, a private in Company K of the 49th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Bolton mustered into the regiment in Pittsburgh on March 23rd, 1865, and served in the Army of the Potomac (6th Corps) until the end of the War, mustering out with his company. There is an earlier reference to a Benjamin Bolton who mustered in on Sept. 10, 1861, with three years service, discharged on a Surgeon's certificate at some unknown date. It is possible this is the same soldier who reenlisted following recuperation from an illness or injury. Pertinent history of the 49th PA Volunteers follows. An interesting artifact with an honest Civil War attribution.
